La Fortuna is a cute Costa Rican town, located 3 hours from either the San Jose or the Liberia airport. The area attracts visitors from all over the world with its fantastic outdoor adventures, lush rainforest, nature, beautiful hotels, and stunning volcano views.
The town is the main tourism hub of the Arenal area, including Arenal Lake and Arenal Volcano.
Relaxing in one of the La Fortuna area hot springs is a must do in Costa Rica. Many hotels have their own hot springs for guests to enjoy. However, if your hotel doesn’t have its own, you can purchase day passes to the thermal springs of Tabacon Resort, The Springs Resort, Baldi Resort, and many others.
When visiting Arenal Volcano area, please bring hiking shoes, hat, light jacket, shorts, t-shirts, casual clothes, and insect repellent.
